ARMS CONSIGNMENT DROPPED BY DRONE RECOVERED BY SAMBA POLICE

Today in the early morning, Samba Police has recovered an arms consignment dropped by a drone from across the border at Village Badali near Swankha Morh under the jurisdiction of Sub-Division Vijaypur.

The consignment was concealed in a yellow-colored packet and the following recoveries were made from the dropped packet:-

1. Pistol = 02 Nos.
2. Pistol Magazine=04 Nos.
3. Pistol Rounds = 60 Nos.
4. Cash = Rs. 5 lacs ( Approx.) in 10 Packets of Rs. 500/- (Indian Currency)
5. Detonator = 01 No.
6. IED Plate = 01 No.
7. Wrist Watch = 01 No.
8. Battery Cell = 02 Nos.
9. Wooden Frame with Thread.
10. White colored Chemical Bottle = 01 No.

SSP Samba, Dr. Abhishek Mahajan, IPS informed that local of the area has spotted the dropped packet lying in the open fields near village Badali and informed the Police. Thorough search of the area is going on. Alertness shown by the villagers has averted the consignment of arms and ammunition from falling into hands of the Anti- National Elements, said SSP Samba.

An awareness cum Sensitisation programme on Elderline 14567 was held at Kishtwar today in the VC room of DC office complex Kishtwar.
Meanwhile, Deputy commissioner Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav also reviewed the functioning of Elderline in District Kishtwar and a series of delibeations were made.
Among others the programme was attended by Addl. SP Rajinder Singh, SDM Chhatroo Inderjeet Singh Parihar,SDM Paddar Dr Rishi Kumar Sharma,SDM Marwah Dr Mohsin Raza, DSWO Zubair Ahmed, Tehsildar Kishtwar Umar Muneeb, TSWOs,and Field Response Leader (FRL) JK Elderline.
Besides all Tehsildars attended the meeting through virtual mode.
Pertinent to mention here that Elderline is an initiative of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment Government of India and it is being implemented by HelpAge India in collaboration with department of Social Welfare Government of J&K.The 14567 is helpline number available for elderly and senior citizens from 8am to 8pm, if they need any legal, medical, emotional or any other kind of help.
On this occasion FRL, JK Elderline gave a detailed power point presentation on the functioning of Elderline. He also discussed the role of different stakeholders involved.
Deputy commissioner Kishtwar instructed all SDM’s to identify a room in all the PHCs and designate the same as a temporary shelter place for Senior citizens to be kept till they are shifted to Senior Citizen Home established at District Headquarter Kistwar.
The Deputy commissioner instructed FRL, JK Elderline that inputs should be given to the ministry and this helpline should be made operational for 24*7.
He also assured full support from the District Administration end to the Elderline for its smooth functioning

Minor boy injured after being attacked by leopard in Uri, hospitalised

Uri, Nov 11 : A minor boy was injured after being attacked by a leopard in Zamboor Pattan village of Uri in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday evening.
An official told the news agency that the boy identified as Tawseef Ahmed son of Mohammad Sadiq Tass of Zamboor Pattan was attacked by the leopard when he was playing outside his home.
He said that soon after the attack, family members and other people rescued the boy.
He added that the boy was immediately rushed to a nearby health facility for necessary treatment, where from he was referred to GMC Baramulla for advanced treatment.
The official said that the condition of the injured was said to be stable.

Jammu, January 10, 2022: ADGP Armed J&K Shri S.J.M Gillani-IPS issued promotion orders of 179 Police Personnel of IRP-25th Bn. of U.T of Ladakh having their lein and seniority with J&K Armed Police.
Among the 179 promotees, 38 Head-Constables have been promoted to the rank of ASI, 45 Sg.Constables have been promoted to the rank of Head-Constables and 96 Constables have been promoted to the rank of Sg.Constables.
The promotion orders were issued by Armed Police Headquarters J&K Jammu after the Departmental Promotion Committee headed by ADGP Armed J&K found them fit for next promotion in light of prescribed promotion norms. The DPC headed by Shri S.J.M Gillani-IPS ADGP Armed J&K as its chairman comprised of AIG(P) PHQ J&K Ramesh Kumar Angral-SSP, DDP APHQ J&K Mohd Shafi Rather, DySP (Pers.) Abdul Hamid, SI Krishan Saroop Rathore, ASI(M) Morifat Ahmed, ASI(T) Satesh Bansi Koul and HC Firdous Ahmed.
The promotion cases of eligible personnel of IRP-25th Bn. of UT of Ladakh were processed by Armed Police Headquarters J&K Jammu in pursuance to orders issued by Govt. of J&K under Circular No.20-JK (GAD) of 2021 dated 19.06.2021 r/w S.O No.428 dated 21.12.2021.
