Journalists’ Fraternity Kupwara Visits to Disburse Relief Among Fire Victims of Kakkadpatti Lolab

Kupwara, Nov 23 (KG): Kupwara-based journalist body under the banner ‘Journalists’ Fraternity Kupwara’ Wednesday visited Kakkadpatti Lolab to interact with the families affected by a devastating fire mishap, which left two minors dead besides damaging three houses there.

The JFK team was led by President Yahya Sultan, who was accompanied by several senior members which included, Rahee Mushtaq (DD News), Sahil Shameem (Gulistan News), Jahangir Lolabi (GNS/Kashmir Glory), Peerzada Zubair (4TV), Suhail Yousaf Shah (The Global Kashmir) and Peerzada Shakir (The Kashmir Walla).

The team extended their heartfelt commiserations to the affected families especially to Mohammad Akbar Khan, who lost his two minor sons in the tragic mishap.

The team disbursed relief material among the affected families, which included blankets, utensils, a suitable cash amount besides other essential paraphernalia.

Fraternity President Yahya Sultan on the eve remarked that it was hard to compensate the families, especially that of Mohammad Akbar Khan, but they did it to send out a message to the public to help these families in such testing times. “People should come and help these families wholeheartedly, with the winter already setting in”, Yahya appealed.

The senior media person also emphasized on his colleagues to take up social work and help families in need, even as keeping up with their duty to act as a medium between general masses and the authorities concerned.

He towards the end also extended his gratitude to all the people who in their individual capacity helped the media body in arranging the relief.

Meanwhile the locals hailed the kind gesture of the media body for reaching out to the affected families.
