Capacity Building & Training programme for PRIs under Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan Kick started at Kishtwar
72 PRIs of Block Bounjwah imparted awareness training on SDGs under RGSA

The JK Rural Development & Panchayati Raj (RD&PR) Department in consultation with Positive Moves Pvt Ltd today launched Capacity Building & Training programme for PRIs of all the blocks of district Kishtwar to be scheduled from 18th Nov to 30th Nov 2022 here at district Headquarter Kishtwar.
On the day one, 72 PRIs of Block Bounjwah were imparted awareness training on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) under Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan here at Conference Hall DC office complex Kishtwar.
The programme was presided over by District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kishtwar Dr Devansh Yadav IAS as Chief Guest and the event witnessed participation of ACP Kishtwar Zakir Hussain Wani, ACD Atul Dutt Sharma, DPO Kishtwar Sunil Bhutyal besides Master Trainers from RD & PR Department besides RDD officials and PRI members.
Master trainers delivered key lectures on the occasion.
During the proceedings,the resource persons threw light on SDGs besides discussed Panchayat Governance, Panchayat Financial Management, GPDP, Social Audit and other integral and evolving concepts associated with the Panchayati Raj Institution.
The significance of Centrally Sponsored Schemes vis-à-vis development of rural areas and the role of PRIs for their smooth implementation were also discussed threadbare.
Addressing the session, DDC Kishtwar said that for democracy to flourish at grassroots level it is imperative the PRI members be well versed with these vital aspects of local self governance, Mechanisms of Social Audit and Panchayat Financial Management have added more teeth to this pivotal institution,he remarked.
Dr.Devansh also highlighted the initiatives undertaken by PR&RD department with regard to capacity building and empowerment of the PRIs.
Hailing the institution for organising these training sessions, the DDC said that such events prove very beneficial and expressed commitment to continue those in future as well.
In Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Sectors, the district is marching in tune with other parts of the country and the empowerment of PRIs is being pursued as top priority, he added.
