Food Safety DFCO Kishtwar intensified awareness activities to observe National Cancer Awareness Day 2022 at Kishtwar
The Department Food Safety (DFCO) Kishtwar today observed National Cancer Awareness Day 2022 at District Headquarter Kishtwar by conducting a series of awareness activities on Food and its impact on health of a person.
The team of the Enforcement officers led by Assistant Commissioner, Food Safety,Drugs & Food Control Organization, District Kishtwar Taraq Ahmed Butt visited market of Kishtwar and awared /educated the Food Business Operators to desist from using Cancers causing additives,unpermitted colours ,toxic chemicals,toxic metals,extra backing powder, avoid use of monosodium Glactonate, repeated overused toxic fried oils,substandard deteriorated food items,Urea in milk etc.
The Enforcement Officers visited shop to shop for awareness & promotion of Eat Right Challenge 2 for modification of life style and imparted education to pave a way to the wellness so that public could be prevented from the threats of Adulteration particularly cancer causing adultrants which are notorious elements to be avoided.
On this occasion Taraq Ahmad Butt, Assistant Commissioner, Food Safety,Drugs & Food Control Organization, District Kishtwar narrated that this Day is important because it educates people about serious risk of Cancer.
He added that at 06 different places including Entry point of Kishtwar,Bus Stand ,Shaheedi chowk ,four corners of Chowgan and DC office Kishtwar premises have been identified by the Department for installation of Big Hoardings with an aim to give an impetus for awareness about deadly disease-Cancer which is the second most Deadly disease that cause death among people.
The condition of people dying of cancer is a serious concern & threat to our Society even Oral cancer ,lung cancer is caused due of smoking and use of Chewing Tobacco,that is why our focus is to emphasized over Nasha Mukt Bharat.
During the day long market visit the team of Enforcement Officers also imposed fine on five violators under section 4 of COTPA.
