Social Welfare Department Kishtwar in Collab with ALIMCO Organises Distribution Camp of Prosthetic aid to PwDs at Sounder Dachhan

Social Welfare Department Kishtwar in Collaboration with Artificial Limbs Corporation of India (ALIMCO), a public sector enterprises functioning under the control of Ministry of Social
Justice and Empowerment Govt of India today organised a Distribution camp under Assistance to Disabled Persons
(ADIP) scheme here Sounder Dachhan under the guidance of District Social Welfare Officer Kishtwar Zubair Ahmed Lone and under the overall supervision of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Dr. Devansh Yadav.
In the said event different aids and appliances were distributed among 108 beneficiaries which includes the Wheelchairs Adult
and small, CP Chair, Hearing Aid, MSIED kit, Smart Cane, Daisy Players, Braille
Kit, Crutches Walking Sticks Rolator Callipers etc. in presence of Tehsildar Dachhan, Block Development Officer Dachhan,Tehsil Social Welfare Officer Marwah,Field Officer from Elder line and
staff of Social Welfare Department Kishtwar besides scores of prominent persons of the area including Sarpanches, Panches also marked their footfall presence on the occasion.
The main objective of the scheme is to assist the needy disabled persons by providing durable, sophisticated and scientifically manufactured, modern standard aids and appliances to promote physical social, psychological rehabilitation of persons with disabilities by reducing the effects of disabilities and at the same time enhance their economic potential.
Assistive devices were given to persons with Disabilities (PwDs) with an aim to improve their independent functioning and to arrest the extent of disability and occurrence of secondary
disability.
Besides distribution of Prosthetic aid Senior Citizens clubs were also formed for Panchayat Sounder-A and Sounder- B.
Awareness was also provided to Senior citizens regarding registration for issuance of Age Certificate, registration of PWD voters for issuance of EPIC card, registration for UDID cards, Elder line and other welfare schemes run by the Social Welfare Department.
