
DCPU Mission Vatsalya Kishtwar visits slum areas of Kishtwar
Aware about BBBP, Child Rights and the role of girl education in social development
Kishtwar, Oct 21: District Child Protection Unit, Mission Vatsalya Kishtwar on the direction of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Sh. Dr. Devansh Yadav (IAS) and under the supervision of District Child Protection Officer, Sh. Zubair Ahmed visited slums areas of Kishtwar and interacted with the children and their parents.
During the interaction, Protection Officer (Non Institutional Care), Sh. Touseef Iqbal Butt aware of the participants about the importance of education in society and asked them to register their children with the help of District Child Protection Unit Kishtwar besides expressed views on Beti Bacho Beti Padho.
He also highlighted various aspects of child rights with reference to child trafficking and child related crimes.
On the occasion, Protection officer (Institutional Care) , Deepika Bandari also spoke on various child related crimes and also exhorted to be aware of their rights and disclose any incident of abuse or harassment to their parents and teachers.
She also requested them to enroll their children’s in nearest schools with the help of child protection officials besides guide them how to prepare an Adhaar cards for their children’s.
She quoted that it is rightly said “if you educate a man, you educate an individual. But if you educate a woman, you educate a nation”. Education is an integral part of every individual’s life but when girls are educated, countries become stronger and prosperous.
In the end, Social Workers DCPU Kishtwar, Saima Kousar and Meenakshi Sharma gave brief awareness on child begging and Child labour and warns all the resident of slum areas not to involve their children’s in begging and labour.
