SVEEP activities intensified at District Kishtwar

DC & SSP Kishtwar flaggs off SVEEP Rally & SVEEP express here from GHSS (Boys) Kishtwar

A mega Awareness rally under Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation programme, better known as SVEEP was today organised here at Govt Model Boys Higher Secondary School of Kishtwar town under overall supervision of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Dr Devansh Yadav IAS, who is also District Election Officer Kishtwar to aware people about the ongoing Summary Revision of Electoral Roll-22.

DC/DEO Kishtwar Dr Devansh Yadav along with SSP Kishtwar Shafqat Hussain Batt flagged off the SVEEP Rally here for the GHSS (Boys) Kishtwar in the presence of ADC Kishtwar Kishori Lal Sharma, Dy SP HQ Ashish Gupta, Dy SP DAR Zia ul Haq, Principal GHSS Boys Javaid Ahmed Kichloo,DIET principal Kishtwar Ashok Sharma,Consultant SVEEP Riaz Ahmed Butt, ENT Sajjad Ahmed.

Besides teachers, staff members of Election cell and Hr Sec Schools and DIET Kishtwar, students from GHSS Boys and GHSS Girls Kishtwar participated in the rally.

Earlier, DC/DEO Kishtwar along with SSP Kishtwar in presence of other district officers and School staff members flagged off the Vehicle designated as “SVEEP express” here from GHSS Boys Kishtwar to intensify the awareness activities under Special Summary Revision of Electoral Roll-2022 (SSR-22) among the the masses in the town of District Kishtwar.

At GHSS (Boys) Kishtwar, Consultant SVEEP & Senior Lecturer DIET Kishtwar , Riaz Ahmed Butt administered Voter’s pledge to the the school students,teachers and the staff members.

In the rally about 400 students carrying play cards and reciting slogans like “My Vote My Right” “My Vote My Choice” passed through main market,main Bus Stand, Minibus stand,Hidyal Chowk to raise awareness among the masses regarding the SSR-2022.

The rally culminated at the Chowgan Ground Kishtwar where at the DEO Kishtwar appreciated the participants for their enthusiastic participation in today’s SVEEP rally.

Besides he also stressed that 25th Oct 2022 is the last date for registeration under SSR-2022, he therefore urged students to come forward and spread awareness among their family members and general masses and youth above 18 years to register and link Aadhar during the ongoing Summary Revison so that the voters base of democracy can be strengthened at ground level.

He reiterated that the major focus of the campaign is to register the youth who have attained the qualifying age of 18 years on 1st October 2022 as the electors in the Electoral Roll.

4 Pilgrims, 2 Pilots Killed As Helicopter Crashes Near Kedarnath
Six people, including two pilots, were killed after a helicopter carrying the pilgrims crashed near Kedarnath in Uttarakhand today, officials have said.
The helicopter crashed near Garu Chatti, they said, adding that six bodies have been recovered so far and a rescue operation is underway. 
The helicopter caught fire briefly after taking off from Kedarnath.

DC Kishtwar conducts surprise inspection of Jal Shakti Office and Polytechnic College Kishtwar
Show cause notice served against the officials found absent from their legitimate duties

Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Dr Devansh Yadav IAS today conducted a surprise inspection of the various govt offices including office of Executive Engineer Jal Shakti Hydraulic Division Kishtwar and Govt Polytechnic College Kishtwar to check the attendance of the staff and delivery of services to the general public.
The DC checked the biometric attendance and duty roaster and asked the staff to remain available to the public and solve their problems and grievances without any delay. He further asked to ensure the quality disposal of public grievances.
He also passed a slew of instructions to the Executive Engineer Jal Shakti in connection with the redressal of grievances of the public at the earliest.
Besides at Govt polytechnic College Kishtwar he also checked attendence registers of staff besides interacted with Engineering students and enquired about the learning gaps and teaching learning outcomes.
At both the offices some employees were found unauthorisedly absent and DC kishtwar has issued the show cause notice against the erring officials.
The DC also maintained that no laxity would be allowed in the maintenance of proper discipline, and punctuality in Government offices in the interest of the greater common good and efficient public service delivery.
