
Intensive market checking conducted at Kishtwar Town ahead of Shree Krishna Janamashtami celebrations
Rotten vegetables/ fruits destroyed on the spot, besides fine of Rs. 1,500 realized from the defaulters.

On the directions of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar Sh. Ashok Sharma (JKAS), an intensive market checking was conducted today here at Kishtwar town ahead of Shree Krishna Janamashtami celebrations.
The designated market enforcement team comprising of Assistant Controller Legal Metrology Kishtwar, Tehsil Supply Officer FCS & CA, Inspector/Team of Municipal Council Kishtwar and S.H.O P/S Kishtwar under the supervision of Tehsildar Kishtwar Pramood Kumar checked the quality and rate list of Food items and other essential commodities.
During market checking, rotten vegetables/ fruits were destroyed on the spot. Besides, an amount of Rs. 1,500 (Rs. One Thousand and Five hundred only) has been compounded as fine and realized from the defaulters on spot.
Moreover, the encroachments made by the shopkeepers on the footpath were also removed and the removed articles have been seized and kept in the custody of the Municipal Council Kishtwar.
Besides, Strict instructions have been issued to the defaulters to maintain the hygienic condition and display of rate lists and other necessary documents at their shops.
