To redress the grievanaces of people at their door step a series of Public outreach programmes were held at various places of district Kishtwar.

The public outreach programmes were held a part of routine Block Diwas Programme in the district.

District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kishtwar Ashok Sharma today chaired the weekly Block Diwas programme at Panchayat Dool-A of Block Nagseni.

The programme was attended by DPO Kishtwar Sunil Bhutyal,DSWO Kishtwar Zubair Ahmed,ALC Kishtwar Amit Kumar, BDO Nagseni Anjil Singh, Xen PHE Ajay Talwar, Xen PMGSY Mohinder Sen, XEn PWD Ravinder Kumar, ZEO Nagseni Nizamuddin, Sarpanch Dool-A Safoora Begum, Panches besides other district officers and field functionaries of various departments.

During the programme,the locals and PRIs of Dool and adjoining Panchayats put forth various grievances/demands of their respective areas including upgradation of local Infrastructure, road connectivity, Land compensation, ATM at Dool, Water scarcity,repair of water Hand pumps and Skill Development programme for youth etc.

The DDC Kishtwar listens to the grievanaces of the people patiently and resolved many of them onspot.

A number of face to face delibrations were also passed to concerned officers to ensure the timely disposal of genuine issues/grievances of the people.

Responding to the issue of the repair of water Hand pumps in the Panchayat Dool, DDC Kishtwar informed the people that necessary amount of funds has been dedicated in the current district Capex for this purpose and he assured them that all the water hand pumps will be repaired in the time bound manner.

Besides Executive Engineer PHE was directed to take PRIs of panchayat on board to frame a comprehensive water distribution Plan under Jal Jeevan Mission so that all the houses are saturated with tap water under the JJM schemes.

DDC Kishtwar stressed PRIs and concerned officers to monitor the effective implementation of the JJM schemes in the said panchayats
so that the benifits of the JJM is reached at ground level in effective and transparent manner.

DDC Kishtwar further instructed the Concerned officers to regularise the water connections in the panchayats for proper and judicious distribution of water in the area.

Meanwhile, the functionaries of Rural Development Departement (RDD) were stressed to complete the allotment and tendering process in these Panchayats so that the dedicated works under MGNREGA and Area Development Plan are completed well in time.

Necessary directions were also given to Xen PWD and Xen PMGSY to take up the matter of the Black topping of Bhatpora Road and payment of land compensation of Gujjar Basti Road and resolve it on priority.

Speaking on the occasion DDC Kishtwar appealed people to keep close vigil on their wards so that they may not fall prey to the menace of drug-addiction besides exhorted upon all to channelise the energy of youth in positive direction for better nation building.

DDC Kishtwar also solicited the farmers and orchardists to shift their efforts besides avail the agriculture and agri-allied sectors Schemes meant for them so that the they can redouble their income.

During the programme, responding to the issue of Skill Development of Youth in the area, DPO Kishtwar informed that the Panchayat secretaries have been mandated to enlist the eligible local youth for ongoing skill Development programmes and he appealed all the youth to get enrolled for the same.

DDC Kishtwar stressed DPO Kishtwar to ensure that all the eligible and desirous youth are enrolled under the programme so that youth are equiped and upgraded with necessary skills through Skill enhancement programme and made eligible for Employement in various sectors including HEP projects .

On the occasion, ALC Kishtwar also educated the youths /masses about various Self-Employement and Livelihood Mission schemes and asked them to avail the benifit of these schemes.

Similar, block diwas programme was also organised at Sohal Paddar under the chairmanship of SDM Paddar Dr Rishi Kumar Sharma wherein a number of grievances/issues of local nature were listened and redressed on spot by passing necessary directions to the concerned officers.

Tehsildar Paddar Rohit Kumar, BDO Paddar Ravi Kumar, BMO Paddar Dr Anil Sharma, ZEO Paddar Sri Krishan ,Sarpanch Sohal Rajinder Singh Chouhan besides panches and locals attended the Block Diwas programme there.

Deputy Commissioner (DC), Kishtwar Sh. Ashok Sharma (JKAS) has extended his greeting to the people of UT of J&K in general and to the people of Kishtwar in particular on the eve of Independence Day-2022 Celebration.

He further appealed to every citizen of Kishtwar to hoist the Tricolour on their houses on this 15th August as a token of love and respect for our freedom fighters under Har Ghar Tiranga initiative.
