


OPENING CEREMONY OF TAILORING AND STITCHING COURSE AT KISHTWAR

The Indian Army has always been “True it its commitment” in providing a helping hand to empower the women in the far-flung areas of the state. In continuance to the same spirit, Army inaugurated a four months tailoring and stitching course on 23 May 2022 to provide vocational training for the women of Kishtwar.
A total of 36 women will undergo the Tailoring and Stitching training at YEGN Kishtwar. The beneficiaries include women who are Priority Household (PHH) and below poverty line (BPL). In this women empowerment Centre, the Indian Army has provided Sewing machines besides other facilities for the above said training. This pedagogy project is a leap of the faith which aims to empower these women and also to prove to be an invaluable resource in their difficult times.
Speaking on the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony the rep of Indian Army said that this virtuous effort by Army will go a long way in amelioration of pockets of hunger and poverty and would also bring greater communal and social harmony in the region and also brought out that the women of underdeveloped remote expanses are also looking forward to become self reliant and strive hard to improve themselves and their family’s quality and standard of life. The villagers present in the event conveyed their gratitude for this enterprising initiative for positive environment of the unemployed women to pursue a line of profession with better opportunities and to hope for a brighter and prosperous future.
