DDC Kishtwar lays the foundation stone of IWMP at Paddar.

Also presided over the weekly block Divas programme and listened to the grievances of people.

Kishtwar; May 18.

District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Ashok Sharma today laid the foundation stone of Integrated Watershed Management project here at Paddar in presence of BDC chairperson Padder Arpan Singh Rana, DDC Member Paddar Hari Krishan Chauhan,Project Manager IWMP/ACP Kishtwar Zakir Hussain Wani,SDM Paddar Rishi Kumar Sharma,BDO Paddar/Nagseni Abhey Indu Sharma besides other concerned officers and locals.

Speaking on the occasion of awareness and foundation ceremony,DDC Kishtwar informed the masses that the IWM project is going to come up with a total cost of 1222.20 lacs and will benefit two Panchayatsy namely Affani and Jar by covering 4550 sq. Hect area.

Later, DDC Kishtwar also presided over the weekly block Divas programme here at Karthaie Paddar where in the people and local PRI raised their issues and demands pertaining to upgradation of local infrastructure in Health,Education, road connectivity,power and water supply and other sectors.

Many of the grievances were redressed on spot by the soft intervention of concerned officers and necessary directions were given to concerned officers.

Besides DDC Kishtwar assured them that rest of their demands will be redressed in time bound manner and has been documented and forwarded to concerned officers for prompt action.

During the block Diwas the PRIs and Public in general appreciated the efforts of district administration for sanctioning this vital project (IWMP) under PMKSY.

Meanwhile responding to the issue of people for shift the location of dedicated wine shop to some other suitable place,the DDC Kishtwar said that he will take up this matter with the concerned authorities for further action.

Speaking on the occasion, DDC Kishtwar also urged the farmers/orchardists to dedicated some portion of their land to horticulture sectors and stressed to shift towards ultra High density plantation to redouble their income.

Meanwhile DDC Kishtwar also held an interactive session with the PRIs of area and discussed various issues pertaining to the development scenario of area and held delibrations for the effective implementation of Panchayat Raj Institutions on grass root level.

Later base-line survey formats were handed over the to concerned field functionaries for conducting base line survey of project area.

Similar,Block Diwas programme was also held at Village Bonda Pyt Chingam A,which is one of the far off area of Block Inderwal & was presided over by SDM Chatroo Inderjeet Singh Parihar in presence of BDO Inderwal Tasleem Wani besides various officials from various Deptts. and PRIs wherein majority of grievances raised by locals were redressed on spot.

Mughal Road Closed After Snowfall As Precautionary Measure
MeT forecasts light rain, snow in J&K before improvement from Oct 20
Poonch, Oct 18 : —
Authorities on Tuesday closed Mughal road due to snowfall along Pir ki Gali (PKG), keeping in view safety of passengers on the thoroughfare which connects Shopian with twin districts of Poonch and Rajouri.
Confirming it, Dysp Traffic Rajouri-Poonch Range Aftab Bukhari told that the road will be opened after improvement in weather.
Meanwhile weatherman here said that light to moderate rain over plains and light snowfall over high reaches was most likely at scattered to fairly widespread places of Jammu and Kashmir on October 19 evening to morning of October 20. “There will be gradual improvement in weather from October 20th late afternoon,” a meteorological department official said here, adding, “There’s No forecast of any Major snowfall for next one week to 10 days in J&K and Ladakh.”
