

OPENING CEREMONY FOR CARPENTER COURSE PROJECT AT THATRI UNDER OPERATION SADHBHAVANA
Thatri dated 17 January 2022. The Indian Army has been constantly undertaking a variety of programs for the locals of the region with special focus on employment generation . In continuing with the same spirit, Indian Army inaugurated a three months Carpenter Course Project at Thatri under Operation Sadhbhavan wef 17 January 2022.
This novel training program is a pilot project wherein 08 locals hailing from far – flung areas of Thatri region were selected . Carpentry is one of the oldest craft and has been in vogue from times immemorial. A good carpenter can always find gainful employment even in villages with poor purchasing power of the people. The project aims to provide the basic working knowledge of the production of properties of different materials in the trade. Army will impart the students with basic applications of various tools, equipment machinery and techniques used in manufacturing to facilitate shaping of raw material into useful product or components. Apart from the representatives of Army , the event was attended by Tehsildar district – Doda , Mr Sahil Randhawa and SSB , Inspector Bhism Dev . Speaking on the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony the Mr Sahil Randhawa said that this virtuous effort by the Army will go a long way in amelioration of pockets of hunger and poverty and would also bring greater communal and social harmony in the region. The Inspector Bhism Dev also brought out that the locals of underdeveloped remote expanses are also looking forward to become self reliant and strive hard to improve themselves and their family’s quality and standard of life. The beneficiaries expressed their happiness and gratitude to the Army for the project and especially the way of selection of the beneficiaries as they feel that this would bring greater communal and social harmony among the locals. The conduct of such training will go a long way in helping the unemployed youth of the area to find gainful self employment and also encourage entrepreneurship amongst participants.
