Police Awantipora recovers abducted girl within hours; accused arrested

Pulwama Jan 12 :Police in Awantipora recovered an abducted girl and arrested the accused person involved in the commission of crime.

On 10-01-2022, Police Station Awantipora received a written complaint wherein the complainant stated that his daughter has been kidnapped by one person namely Sanju Singh son of Rai Singh resident of Pundail Gurdaspore Punjab.

Accordingly, on receipt of the complaint, a case vide FIR No. 03/2022 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Awantipora and investigation was initiated.

During the course of investigation, a police party headed by SHO Police Station Awantipora with the assistance of technical team tracked down the location of the accused person in Banihal area. Immediately a police team was dispatched to Banihal to rescue the abducted girl. The team was able to recover the kidnapped girl from Sheer Bebi Banihal & arrested the accused person involved in the commission of crime within 5 hours.

After fulfilling all medico-legal formalities, the girl has been handed over to her legal heirs. Further investigation into the matter is in progress.

Swift action by Police against anti-social elements has been appreciated by the locals. Community members are requested to cooperate with police in curbing social crimes in their neighbourhood. They can share information pertaining to social crimes with police. We reassure the community members that our efforts in curbing social crimes shall continue.“`

With an aim to redress the grievances of the people at their door step as a part of good governance, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Dr Devansh Yadav IAS today listened to the grievances of people here at Village Sewa of Panchayat Inderwal A, Block Inderwal during the block diwas programme.
SDM Chhatroo Inderjeet Singh Parihar, ACP Kishtwar Zakir Hussain Wani, DPO Kishtwar Sunil Bhutyal,DSWO Kishtwar Zubair Ahmed,CAHO Dr Sanjay Sen, District Nodal Officer AYUSH Dr Vikram Gupta,Tehsildar Chatroo Suman ji Sharma,BDO Chhatroo Tasleem Wani,Locals and PRIs of adjoining Panchayats besides District, Sectoral and Block level officers remained present in the programme.
Besides the Visiting Students of GDC Kishtwar who were assigned the work of data collection of infrastructure needs in said panchayat during Back to Village phase fourth programme under Mini Internship programme rolled out for College students of Kishtwar also attended the block diwas programme.
During the programme,the locals PRIs of said panchayat and it’s adjoining areas highlighted their grievances related to upgradation of road connectivity, Power and water supply besides apprised the chair about the infrastructure deficit in health, Education and Jal Shakti sector in their respective Panchayats.
DC Kishtwar listened to their grievances patiently and assured them that their genuine demands and grievances will be redressed in time bound manner.
DC kishtwar passed many directions to the concerned officers and many grievances were also resolved on spot with the intervention of concerned District/Block level officer.
Meanwhile,a number of issues pertaining to infrastructure gaps in various sectors which have been recorded by the Visiting Students during the concluded Back to Village phase fourth programme were also discussed and read out before the people on the occasion.
DC Kishtwar assured for the necessary and timely intervention in these issues so that public inconvienance will be mitigated in timely manner.
Meanwhile, in the programme the Chicks by Animal Husbandry Department were also distributed among the farmers by Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Kishtwar in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar and other District officers.
DC kishtwar also distributed Land Passbooks among legal landowners of the panchayat under Apki Zameen Apki Nigrani and also handed over the prosthetic aids to benefiaries provided by District Social Welfare Departement.
Distribution of golden cards and plantation drive was also conducted during the programme in presence of DC Kishtwar.
Meanwhile, DC Kishtwar inspected the Govt Middle School Sewa and took stock of it’s functioning and infrastructure gaps besides also conducted distribution of gifts among the students of MS sewa on the occasion.
Deputy Commissioner along with BDO Chatroo and other District officers inspected the RDD works in village Sewa including houses sanctioned under Awas Plus,Soak Pits,IHHL unit and Capex work.DC also interacted with Awas Plus beneficiaries during his visit.
Later,DC Kishtwar visited Anganwadi Centre Sewa and interacted with Anganwadi Workers and stressed them to deliver the Anganwadi functionals effectively.
Enroute, DC Kishtwar also visited PHC Chatroo and took ward wise inspection of the Health Centre and reviewed the patient care facilities from the staff.During the inspection,he directed the concerned officers to ensure the completion of electrification work of the Health centre immediately for the safety and ease of patients.
