ADDC Kishtwar reviews COVID mitigation efforts during inspection of District Hospital

To ensure the effective mitigation of COVID-19 situation in the district, Additional District Development Commissioner, Kishtwar Sham Lal yesterday reviewed the COVID mitigation efforts in district hospital during an inspection.

He was accompanied by Medical Superintendent D/H Kishtwar Dr Parveez Iqbal Wani, Deputy CMO Kishtwar Dr. Balbir Singh , Account Officer,DC office Kishtwar Imran Ahmed Kichloo, Secretary District Red Cross Society Asgar Ali Sheikh besides concerned medical officers and officials.

During his inspection, ADDC Kishtwar inspected the designated COVID care centre established at district Hospital and reviewed the arrangements placed in for the effective management of the COVID positive patients there.

While taking first hand appraisal of the COVID-19 mitigation measures in the DH,he inspected the 17 bedded COVID-ICU and took stock of the availability of Oxygen in wards and reviewed medicine stock available to deal with any unprecedented situation.

Meanwhile, the ADDC inspected various section and wards during which he interacted with the patients and other stakeholders to enquire about various services being provided to them.

The doctors apprised him of the treatment provided to these patients.

The ADDC directed the concerned to provide qualitative and efficient patient care services to the people.

Additional District Development Commissioner expressed the satisfaction over the protocol being followed by hospital management in the treatment of these patients.

He also took review of various aspects including availability of essential medicines, heating, lighting and other necessities and directed the concerned authorities to provide these services to the patients in a hassle free manner.

During the inspection, he checked the attendance registers and directed the concerned to display the duty roster of officials vividly on the notice board and said that any kind of laxity shall not be tolerated.

He exhorted upon the hospital management to put in extra efforts towards making patients feel comfortable and safe besides exhorted to play a special role in these times of crisis for the society would always remain indebted to their selfless contribution towards fighting this dreaded virus.

Meanwhile, free face masks were also distributed among the patients and their attendants by the Red Cross society Kishtwar in presence of ADDC Kishtwar and other officers.

2 Days Mock Drill Exercise commences at Kishtwar
Kishtwar,05-12-2022.
Two days Mock Drill began today under the overall supervision of Chairman, District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Dr Devansh Yadav IAS, here at DC office complex.
On the first day of the exercise, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) demonstrated Table Top Exercise (TTEx) which is helpful in staying safe in the wake of an earthquake or landslide.
In the presence of Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Kishtwar Sham Lal, the exercise was conducted with the involvement of Police, UTDRF/ Civil Defense, Armed forces, Red Cross and representatives of NGOs.
Earlier, Assistant Commandant, 13th Battalion, NDRF, Javed Iqbal gave a detailed PowerPoint presentation on the structure and role of NDRF in India, its abilities, the list of machines used for dealing with all types of natural and man-made disasters, etc. Javed Iqbal stressed on the need to maintain coordination among the stakeholders during a disaster to reduce response time for rescue measures as District Kishtwar fall under IV and V earthquake seismic zones.
Heads of different stakeholder departments responded to the queries during the meeting.
A mock exercise would be conducted tomorrow at the GDC Kishtwar at 11:00 AM by the NDRF team to sensitise stakeholders about the rescue preparedness at the time of an earthquake.
Deliberations were also held on the utility of satellite phone, helipads, medial infrastructure and response team, hygiene and sanitation, drinking water supply, role of media, awareness and training to effectively tackle the unprecedented disaster in the district.
Among others present were Accounts Officer DC office Kishtwar Imran Ahmed Kichloo, ASI UTDRF, Secretary Red Cross Kishtwar Asgar Sheikh besides students and others.

In order to redress the grievances of people at their door step, a camp was held on Wednesday at Panchayat Patnazi-B of Tehsil Bounjwah, wherein Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Kishrori Lal Sharma (JKAS) listened to the grievances of the people.
During his visit he was accompanied by Tehsildar Bunjwah, Naib-Tehsildar Bunjwah and other revenue officials.
On the occasion, individuals and public deputations led by PRIs put forth issues and demands for augumentation of power,water supply, road connectivity and basic amenities.
Besides demand for ST hostel, issues of JJM schemes and land compensation to beneficiaries renovation of School buildings and Health institutions and other specific issues were also highlighted in the programme.
After listening to the demands and issues of the locals, the Additional Deputy Commissioner assured the public that all their genuine grievances shall be redressed in a time bound manner.
He appealed the PRIs and masses to join hand with administration and actively participate in the Nasha Mukht JK Abhiyan and other government schemes.
Besides ADC Kishtwar disbursed structure compensation to 20 structure owners whose structure have come under the alignment of Patnazi to Kither Road and distributed Land passbooks to several landowners of the area.
The public of the area thanked ADC Kishtwar for conducting camp in such far-flung area.
